The Cookie Cutter Approach Isn’t Working & Here’s Why
Have you ever signed up for a program feeling motivated, excited & committed to what’s ahead?!
You were so enthusiastic because the sales & marketing of the program was exactly what you needed to hear.
It promised you everything you were looking for at that time.
It showed the exact steps to get from feeling stuck in information overwhelm to confident execution.
And after all the thrilling bonuses, the valuable content & the trustworthy coach you were relying on, you took that leap of faith.
You invested.
You put in the time.
You showed up with effort.
You had the highest of hopes.
But then you quit.
Life got in the way… things got busy… there were other more important priorities.
That’s just life, right?
Well - I can tell you it doesn’t have to be.
And I get it, we’ve all signed up for programs we haven’t completed.
- Started the online courses.
- Bought the gym membership.
- Signed up for the recipe service.
- Booked complimentary consults.
- Started the lists.
- Made the planner.
And then what happens?
No follow through.
Now, it might feel like this is the problem:
- You don’t have the time or it’s not the right time.
- You’re not disciplined enough or don’t have the willpower.
- You lack the motivation or you’re too lazy.
- You don’t feel like it’s that important or that you're worthy of the attention.
But I can tell you that after working with hundreds of women over the past ten years, these aren’t the problem.
The problem is that you’ve been expecting a cookie cutter approach to work for you.
You - who is as unique as a snowflake.
You - who there is literally no one else like in the universe.
You - with all your quirks, qualities, & tendencies.
No, there’s nothing wrong with you or your attempts in the past.
It’s simply been that you’ve been trying to take a cookie cutter, one-size-fits-all approach to wellbeing.
Your lifestyle is made up of multiple dimensions of wellness, which are parsed out differently depending on who you ask.
Loosely, these dimensions can be broken down into:
- Emotional
- Physical
- Spiritual
- Social
- Intellectual
- Occupational
- Environmental
- Financial
Knowing these are awesome - a good starting point.
But unfortunately, there’s no roadmap on how to shift or change any of these facets in your life.
That’s why I created a framework for making behavior change shifts.
This allows you to sign up for the program, learn something new or take on a new challenge with the confidence that you will be able to finish it.
I’ve kept the dimensions of wellness in mind creating the steps below.
Getting your life, time & thoughts organized allows you to reach your goals as you continue to grow in mind, body or spirit for years to come.
These steps align a foundation for wellbeing that gets your dimensions of wellness in order - specifically physical, emotional, social, environmental, & intellectual.
Typically, when you begin to align these facets of wellness, the others will follow.
Which leads to more energy, mental clarity & increased focus on the things that matter.
Simple Steps to Aligning Your Everyday Hustle:
1. Create a Foundation
- Address Your Environment
- Manage Your Time & Schedule
- Set Meaningful & Appropriate Intentions
2. Reframe Your Mindset
- Define Your Philosophy
- Create a Mindfulness Practice
- Do Away with Negative Self-Talk
- Set Up Healthy Boundaries
3. Learn How to Set Up Habits
- Understand Habit Formation
- Change One Habit at a Time
4. Plan of Attack
- Life Strategy
- Maintenance
Now, this is a framework - but notice there are no exact steps that apply to both you & me at the same time.
You see, what happens most frequently is someone will find something that works for them, think it’s absolutely out of this world & wants to share that exact same approach with others.
So they teach the what of their success.
Although the intention is coming from a good place, we are all incredibly unique in our choices, upbringing & circumstances - there’s simply no way it’s going to work for all of us.
Yes, you may feel aligned to an aspect of what they do or what they teach. You take it on for a while & then something happens so it gets lost in the fray.
And you wind up back where you started - information overwhelm & unsure of where to go or what steps to take next.
Now, my framework is helpful, so that you know easily what to do or tackle next.
But you’re not told exactly what to do - you’re guided in a way that encourages you to make your own decisions.
Because with the cookie cutter approach, you never truly learn how to take responsibility for your choices.
You end up following someone else’s lead & eventually that person doesn’t do the trick anymore.
So why wait for the next cookie cutter program, the next one-size-fits-all?
It hasn’t worked before - so stop doing the same thing while expecting a different outcome.
